Almost a year before the release of this music I began down a path I could never have imagined or planned. It has been the journey of a lifetime. Most of these songs have been with me ever since I began singing. They are songs that reflect my personal faith and payers, songs that I can sing easier than I can speak. They have been an encouragement when I was struggling, a comfort to myself and my family, and songs of witness to those who have heard them. I bring these songs as my aparche, my first fruits offering to the Lord, and my personal expression for you. I give God all the glory and I thank Him for all the people that have influenced my life and music through the years. I don''t quite know how to thank my wife Mary enough for showing me how to keep singing through all the tumult in our lives. I praise God for our parents who have modeled so well for us the Christian life. I want to thank my three girls for enduring the music constantly ringing through the house, and a special thanks to Ron and Tom of Merus Media for sharing the vision of this music, making it more than I ever could have dreamed and sharing their faith and music with me.

Known as a singer with a wide range both vocally and stylistically, William Bokhout has sung leading roles in opera as well as musical theater. He also has appeared in concert with major orchestras and chorales and is widely sought after for his sacred music performances. Classically trained with a wide variety of musical influences he is able to cross the musical lines from classical to jazz, show tunes to pop. Bill brings a fresh new sound to sacred music. His broad musical versatility is shown in this recording through the many styles and varied colors of music he presents. His personal testimony and faith journey are brought together in deeply personal original songs, along with beautiful new treatments of the traditional music that formed the foundation not only of his life but also the lives of Christians throughout the world.
