After over 10 years of research, study, arranging, composing, practicing, translating, writing, editing, and photographing, Amor Fortuna is finally here for you. It features voice, mandolin, mandola, alto domra, requinto, classical guitar, and renaissance lute. Most of the music was written in Northern Italy over 500 years ago.
Amor Fortuna has 13 tracks, over 71 minutes of music, and a 28-page full-color booklet with the text, translation, commentary, pictures of most of the instruments, and the artist''s musical biography. Two of the tracks are original composition, including the title piece, which is dedicated to Dr. Ceruti''s husband, Bill Hoover. Amor Fortuna was produced using single-speed glass mastering, which reproduces the highest quality sound so that each copy is indistinguishable from the master even using electronic means to analyze the waveform.
Many people contributed to this effort. In the San Diego area, the music was recorded at Studio West in Rancho Bernardo. The majority of the instruments were purchased, repaired, or restored at the Blue Guitar in Mission Gorge. Moreover, the San Diego House of Italy in Balboa Park provided language consulting and moral support for this effort. Local mandolinist, Bill Lee, took the photograph of the artist that is featured in the booklet and on the disc.
