This is an album of echoes. I''ve written about poverty, recession, revolution, family, war and survival. All the things a growing boy needs. When I look around at the world all I see is a bunch of problems that just keep coming back, like we''re unable to learn from the past. So these are modern stories told in old ways, a reminder that we''ve been here before and let it happen again. I wanted to summon all the ghosts: Woody Guthrie, Phil Ochs, Joe Hill and write a good ol'' fashioned protest album.
