THE RAFT OF THE MEDUSA has been a seminal story for Jon Sorensen for 25 years.

Track two is dedicated to the British electronic composer Delia Derbyshire, whose experiments, long before any computers, and working on a parallel development with New Yorkers Louise and Bebe Barron, (who composed the "electronic tonalities" for the MGM science fiction film "Forbidden Planet"), created some of the most pioneering work at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in Oxford, England, during the 1960''s. The male dominated heirarchy saw to it that she never received deserved credit for her work. She elected to live the rest of her life in alcoholic obscurity, well away from the music world, on her own personal Raft Of The Medusa. Many years after her death a box of her recordings was found in an attic under a pile of rubble. She composed the groundbreaking atmospheric soundtrack for the film 1974 film THE LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE, directed in England by John Hough.
Track three is dedicated to HAL 9000 and his subsequent computer descendents who will follow him into madness thanks to their human masters who will bestow upon them "the breath of egotism".
