Carolyn Martin''s new CD "Cookin'' With Carolyn" includes classic tunes from the golden age of American Songwriting, a couple of songs from Broadway shows (you might not have realized that Rogers and Hammerstein wrote a western swing tune, but it turns out that they did), songs written by Carolyn and her friends. The CD even includes a theme song!

A partial listing of the songs on "Cookin'' With Carolyn " include Johnny Mercer''s "Dream" and "Yodel Blues (made famous by yodeler Elton Britt), Nat King Cole''s "Straighten Up and Fly Right", Fats Waller''s "Spring Cleaning", "People Will Say We''re in Love" from the musical Oklahoma, the quirky 1950 Eileen Barton hit "If I Knew You Were Coming I''d''ve Baked a Cake", the classic "Columbus Stockade Blues" as well as Hoagy Carmichael''s "Nearness Of You". New music for the project are Neil Stretcher''s, "Nothing Better To Do", Beegie Adair''s "Someday Soon Sweetheart", Paul Kramer''s "It''s All About You", as well as a couple of songs that Carolyn''s own songs: "That''s What I Call Cookin''" (written with Dave Martin) and "Skillet Blues", written with Nora Jane Struthers. The theme song, "Cookin'' With Carolyn" was composed by Jeff Taylor.

Carolyn brought her favorite musicians together to record "Cookin'' With Carolyn": Billy Contreras and Paul Kramer traded off the fiddles, Rory Hoffman played guitar and accordion and Jeff Taylor played piano and accordion. Chris Scruggs, Johnny Cox and Doug Jernigan played steel, Beegie Adair and Neil Stretcher also played piano and John England (from the Western Swingers) played guitar. Drummer Tommy Wells and bassist Dave Martin round out the rhythm section. The legendary Riders In The Sky sing with Carolyn on Johnny Mercer''s wonderful ballad "Dream", while Carolyn, Kat Bowser and Dave Martin provided the rest of the background vocals
