SURRENDER, meaning "to give up completely" is not always in our human nature.
In fact, it is often contrary to our need to retain control of ourselves, control of others,
control of our habits, and control of our possessions.
God''s plan for us requires that we surrender ourselves to Him, His Son, and the Holy Spirit.
So how then do we start and truly continue that total surrender every day of our lives?
A good place to begin is in God''s Word where He tells us the following (from the NIV translation):
"Be still and know that I am God..." Psalm 46:10 ... leading us to acknowledge God''s authority in our lives.
"The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace."
Romans 8:6 ... exhorting us to life and peace by releasing control to the Holy Spirit.
"In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has, cannot be my disciple."
Luke 14:33 ... showing us that for a Christian, it is not an option to give only partial control to Christ.
He requires our full surrender!
