MP3 Sugar Ponies - I Better Better

ALTPOPCUNTFOLKROCK is how we describe it. That''s "country" in the middle there.

8 MP3 Songs in this album (27:20) !
Related styles: Pop: Pop/Rock, Folk: Folk Pop, Mood: Fun

Details:
This CD has a great mix of fun folky pop songs and then some really sexy love songs.

With Care is actually a blue grass tune (you should look up alternative recordings to hear the difference from ours), but with a jazz drummer on board it became sort of a jazz folk mix.

This Woman and You is just fun to sing and dance to.

Love Song is all about finding the love of your life.

Kiss Me describes the moment you find them and how you feel - dying for that first kiss.

Lately rocks country style and is open to interpretation!

She''s my Sister is all about me (Suz) and my sister, Janice. You should know she passed away in 2007, but I got most of the song done before then and she LOVED it!

Shine Again is a song about hope and having someone who believes in you.

Slow Poke is a fun cover from way before we were born!

Below is our Bio:

The Sugar Ponies make music for a very simple reason: They love it.

They’re a collaboration in the truest sense of the word: a meeting of two like-minded musicians who, in finding one another, found the partner they were looking for.

Based in San Francisco, but originally from the east coast, Sugar Ponies are comprised of Suzanne Kramer on vocals and multi-instrumentalist Michael McGovern on guitar, keyboard and tambourine. Suzanne grew up heavily influenced by 70’s pop, country and jazz – echoes of which can be heard throughout Sugar Ponies music. Michael grew up a fan of XTC, Pete Townshend, Don Henley and Mike Campbell. Suzanne built a career as a jazz singer, playing clubs and private functions. Michael played in several bands, all varying stylistically – surf, rock, punk, etc., and scored music for several independent films and soundtracks.

Meeting each other at the seminal San Francisco club Yoshi’s in 2004, the two began talking, and as Suzanne remembers, “We discovered that we were both looking for something very similar as the other, and it inspired us to start writing together.” The first two years of their collaboration was spent, as Suzanne says, “experimenting, writing songs and seeing how we fit together.”

As Michael says, “We absolutely want people to hear our music and we want to be successful playing gigs, but the main thing is to be playing.” Suzanne adds, “I think what we have to offer is a very unique range of music that has a lot of happy, sexy energy to it.” That energy is evident all over their debut EP Sugar Ponies, a refreshingly varied piece of music that resonates for those whose ears are open to hearing it.
