Details:
The 2010 album “Daymare” revolves around the concept of a “day of songs” or “songs of a day” - each of the 24 songs roughly paralleling events of a 24 hour period, from early morning, on into evening, and right through into dreamland, and out the other side into the next day.

J.D. had the help of many friends on “Daymare” - Thanks to: Ana Voog and Lili Zuzu Voog for use of daughter Lili’s recorded laughter on “Belly Laugh Breakfast” • Frank Hanson for electric bass & guitar samples + FX recordings on “Coffin Break” • Chris Keegan for additional percussions on “Coffin Break” • The late Genesis “Gigi” Casten for inspiration on “Ghost In The Clock” • JJ “Avitar” Walker for MPC beats on “Untitled Without Words” • Ben “Monk Metz” Metzger for rap vocals and lyrics on “Solitary Solidarity Sermon” • Rick Stasel for electric bass and slowed train recording on “Short Wait On A Slow Train” • Rex Hungerford for blues guitar on “Dinner And A Movie” • Nelda Casten for vocals on “Twilight Falling” • Brenden “nerBeater” MacDonald for synth/MIDI samples on “Three Crazy Words” • Kirk Schreiter for vocals and (rearranged) words on “Underworld In The Sky” • Eric Richardson for jazz upright bass on “Busted Robot Nightmare” • Matthew “DJ Tigerstripes” Kenneth for beat-matched edits of Jerry Harrison’s “Worlds In Collision” on “Lucid Dreamer Tail Chaser” • Nick “Momus” Currie for use of (re-contextualized) vocals on “Wet Signals Ophelia” • Bruce Allen Bayard for bass drone on “Sudden Daybreak Awakening” • and Cody Casten for a synth line on “Daydream Moment Of Clarity.”
