Details:
The vividly unique sound created in the genre of alternative folk rock has become Whyte Zebra''s distinct calling card. Based in the Central Queensland region of Australia, this five-piece band consists of lead vocalist and lead guitarist Andy Stanhope, drummer Louis Parish, bassist Steve Quinn, violinist Rebecca Romeo and vocalists Jackie Perryer.

After many years of performing live this band has a large and loyal fan base. Their frenetic pace ensures them as a constant on the music scene. In 2008 they won an arts grant to record and produce their self-titled debut album. After the release of their debut in early 2009 the band succeeded to win another arts grant to record and produce a film clip and a 4 track CD/DVD for the single ‘double or nothing’. The band appeared on Channel 7’s Queensland Weekender in 2009 performing this single live. They have supported artists such as The Living End, Spiderbait, The Butterfly Effect, The Heard, Melodyssey, Diana Anaid, The Fumes, Small Mercies, Ash Grunwald and Bondi Cigars at a number of festivals and support gigs. Whyte Zebra are hopeful to perform a full agenda of shows and host a number of workshops around Australia throughout 2010.

Described as the gritty Gladstone-based folk-blues of Whyte Zebra (RAVE MAGAZINE WEDNESDAY, 15 APRIL 2009), each member brings their own musical influences to the band, from roots to country through to heavy rock. It is these very differences that have seen the development of a unique bond, respect and passion for all kinds of music.
