Details:
On August 30, 2009, Landis Dell went into the studio with fellow musicians Tyler Reimer, Jeff McGregor, and Simon Fisk to record his debut CD: Reflections in a Forgotten Language. All of the guitar, bass, saxophone, and drum tracks were recorded together during that afternoon. This fact gives the CD a sense of urgency and spontaneity that audiences have been experiencing at Landis Dell''s live performances for years.

The CD may have been recorded over a short period of time, but it was the result of years of preparation. All of the pieces of music on Reflections in a Forgotten Language are Landis Dell''s own compositions. Most were composed during 2007 and 2008, and one composition dates back to 2002.

All of the pieces on Reflections in a Forgotten Language were composed with the specific intent to create sonic environments to which the listener would react. Rather than express a narrative, like many jazz and pop pieces, the pieces were intended to evoke the listener''s own emotions and the listener''s own stories. Hopefully you will be able to find some of your own stories in the music of Reflections in a Forgotten Language.
