Details:
zocaloZĂĽe is a band where the hybrid-cultural sounds of Veracruz, MĂ©xico and Los Angeles meet. One can hear a strong foundation of son jarocho in ZocaloZĂĽe, intertwined with elements of Cuban son, cumbia, bolero, and hints of rock in certain musical moments. Their sound is meeting place of pan-Latino genres and a testimony of multi-cultural Los Angeles.

zocaloZĂĽe initiates in Fall 2007 while working on Un zapateado Chicano, a presentation at the Luckman Fine Arts complex that combined dance, theater, and son jarocho music.

zocaloZüe has performed at venues such as the John Ansen Ford Ampitheater (2008) and the Japan American Museum’s summer concert series (2009). zocaloZüe has appeared on Univision’s Despierta América and received press coverage on the Los Angeles Times, L.A. Weekly, and the OC Weekly. In July 2009 they released their first album “MundoJarocho”, co-produced by John Avila, Oingo Boingo’s bass player.
