Ruth Barber, Keith Watson, and Dave "Fiddle Man" Pierce join to bring out the melodies of some fine old mountain tunes and ballads. From the haunting Cold Frosty Morn, joyful Fly Around My Pretty Little Miss, to the tale of Black Jack Davey, these old tunes and ballads will have you foot stomping, smiling and crying, and wanting to get back to the mountains. Many of these old tunes were played and sung in the Great Smoky Mountains and Boogertown! YES, Boogertown (Oldham''s Creek) is a real place in Sevier County, TN. Keith''s father''s family settled here in the late 1800''s after having moved over from the Oconaluftee, NC area of the Smokies where they lived and worked among the Cherokee. Boogertown Gap is a low spot on the ridge that separates the rural communities of Boogertown and King Branch. The Gap is also where Keith''s dad and his family used to go on a fox hunt and tell tall tales. We use this name to honor the people, the place, and the music of our ancestors whose lived here and grew up playing, singing, listening, and dancing to this music. Liner notes provide short and trivial history of each tune. Boogertown Gap, or BTG as we''re locally known is indeed, The Place, The Band, The Music.
