Unlike the current popular Goth music in the late 90''s who derived their inspirations from pop-music, ABM came from a Black Metal background which gave him a far more evil sound and depressingly dark lyrics. One thing to note on this album is that it was done without any major studio equipped with digital sequencers, computers or any kind of Protools. In essence, he was about as low-tech as it got. Yet he created an album that was very crisp and to this day, unmatched in both originality and style.
