Triptic is a rock band from Long Beach. They consist of three friends – Damien Smith (lead singer, guitar), Brent Firestone (drums, vocals), and Sean Grace (bass, vocals) -- As the music on their third album for indie label Trippull6 Records shows, their edgy guitar riffs assembled with driving rhythms and intricate harmonies spawn a distinct and esoteric sound. The band has been performing and recording since the turn of the century. Formed by Damien Smith, 33, he recruited his prodigy drum student for the project in late 2006 when the Peace Corps lured their original drummer out of the country. Struggling with finding a bassist, Smith and Firestone wrote and began recording their most recent album Glory Lane. Near the end of the process Sean Grace, 28, came on board to fill out the lineup. Triptic has toured nationally and their music can be heard on the Spike television show “10 Things Every Guy Should Do”. More recently, four songs off their new album are being featured in the international release of the film “The Hammer”. As its namesake, triptych (meaning a three-paneled work of art) implies, the three distinct elements that form the band converge to create a unique musical experience.
