Details:
Dummitt/Malone is the Lennon/McCartney, Jagger/Richards, combination that didn''t meet until 1996. "DOUBLE AUGHT IS A STURDY BAND WITH A CLASSIC ROCK SOUND." News4U Evansville, In. "It was almost a battle, in the studio, to make everyone understand we wanted that timbre, that vinyl, analog tone of the classic recordings of a live working Bar band." says Dummitt. "When Steve Childers, from Paradise Recording Studios in Paducah suggested 3 women for the back-up vocals on "Roll Me Baby", we used all 3." said Malone.
Ben Dummitt and Owen Malone did all of the guitar work on this project, wrote all the songs and produced it themselves. Owens 79'' three bolt Strat was used, alongside his G&L. Ben used a 79'' Gibson S.G., and a 96'' American Standard Strat that is now gone.
Owen used a Line Six solid state amp, owned by Paradise recording Studios, Ben used his road worn Marshall all tube 4100. Levi Worley played bass on this CD. Billy Toon played drums, using an acoustic Mapex kit with a custom built Opus snare, built by Darrel Johnson for this project. Matt Fiorentini joined the band before the album was released, due to a health problem with drummer Billy Toon, and DOUBLE AUGHT has been beatin'' the streets ever since. With t-shirts and bumper stickers from Chicago to Louisiana, Saddams throne, Abbey Road, Apache Jct. Az., to Virginia it''s been a good run.
"The recording came out as we wanted it." says Ben. "It''s the best Classic Rock album released in 20 years."
