Ari "Doc o'' Rock" Mintz is a Chicago rock and blues man. He has played in numerous bands including Moose and Squirrel, Angel Train, Doc o’ Rock and the Mothers of Intervention, the Sunshine Festival, and the notorious Sons of Simba - where bandleader Kevin Rosen first dubbed him the "Doc o’ Rock" (Mintz is a physician).
An engaging bassist and thoughtful songwriter, Mintz''s musical specialty is collaborating with others to create great original rock. He cites among many influences the Beatles, James Brown, the Allman Brothers, Miles Davis, James Jamison, Sting, U2, Albert Collins, Laszlo Tabar, and Little Darling & the Chilluns.
