ABOUT DATHAN THIGPEN
Every now and then a man child is born who has showed up on the planet to authenticate the pattern of things in heaven. Great champions such as Moses, David, Elijah, John the Baptist, Paul the Apostle, Martin Luther King, Jr., Nelson Mandela, and Jesus Christ all ameliorate this reality. Each were created, chosen, and called to communicate a particular purpose of heaven in the earth.
On October 9, 1980 God gave us a man child who would ultimately become ineluctably the answer to the necessity for a paradigm shift in the arena of Worship. His parents would appropriately call his name Dathan, which translated means: welled, or belonging to a fountain. Dathan Thigpen is indeed a well and fountain of worship from which flows living water- the very presence of God! This is not a blandishment; we must now embrace the gravitas nature of Dathan’s existence to communicate the culture of worship in the earth.
Dathan began singing at a young age. The genesis of his discography began at the early age of six (6) years old with his first recorded single entitled, “Mama Christmas.” That same year he also appeared on his first live video on the Joby Martin show which aired on WLBT-TV3 in Jackson, MS. He went on to join the MS Children’s Choir where he led several songs on their three recordings : "There is Hope," & "Thank You Lord" on the Child of The King CD, "Let''s Change The World" on the New Creation CD, "Things Go Better with Christ," "I’m Blessed (rap)" and "Remember Me" on the When God''s Children Get Together CD. Dathan also led the title track, “Amazing Love” on the Mississippi Mass Choir’s 2002 recording. "He''ll Never Change," from Vernon Moore & the Urgency Project was the #1 requested song on the local gospel stations for 3 months in a row. He is also a member of the group Integrity, which sung backup for Harvey Watkins, Jr.''s solo project on Verity Records. He has sung back up on numerous projects including, The Williams Brother''s Live project. Dathan is also a Philomath, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Arts Degree both with a concentration in Mass Communications from Jackson State University . He received the distinct honor from the Cingular Wireless Mississippi Gospel Music Awards of: Male Lead Singer of Local Group in 2002 and 2003. Dathan most recently sang the ?Star Spangled Banner? at the Inauguration Ceremony of Jackson, Mississippi''s newly elected Mayor Frank Melton.
Dathan is a faithful church member and currently serves as the Praise and Worship leader at Word of Faith Christian Center of Jackson, Mississippi. He is the third of five (5) sons all of whom are musically anointed from the womb, to be psalmists.

ABOUT HOLY NATION
Dathan Thigpen & Holy Nation was formed in the fall of 2003 by Dathan Thigpen. The choir’s name is taken from 1Peter 2:9 which reads: “But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:” The Lord gave Dathan a vision to assemble a choir to expose people from every walk of life to unadulterated praise which is the choir’s main ministry focus.
This dynamic group of young people has blossomed into one of the premier local choirs coming out of the Jackson, Mississippi area. In April 2004 they were asked to open for CeCe Winans’ Throne Room Tour, where they ushered over 2000 people into the presence of God. Their unique style and flair crosses both cultural and denominational barriers. In October 2004, they hosted an unprecedented concert event: “GET UP 2004 – Getting Exposed To Unadulterated Praise” at Mississippi College(MC). This gathering of worshippers featured a diverse audience of young and old, black and white, as well as the churched and unchurched. The atmosphere of MC was transformed into a sanctuary where the Spirit of God moved mightily. They will also be featured on the nationally syndicated gospel TV show Singsation later this fall. This choir has a distinctive anointing that electrifies every venue that they minister in, making them one of the most sought after choirs in the state of Mississippi.

For their first live recording, GET UP, they are joined by nationally renowned gospel producer David Blakely. David has played with industry greats such as: Edwin & Walter Hawkins, LaShun Pace-Rhodes, Rev. James Moore, The Mississippi Mass Choir, Byron Cage, Kevin Bond & Jonathan Dubose to name a few. Leading the musical efforts on keyboard, David is joined by the Holy Nation Band which consists of Barry Bolden on organ, David Curry, III on drums, Cornelius “CC” Moore on bass guitar and featuring special guest Jonathan Dubose on lead guitar.
VISION
It is my desire that the people of God get exposed to worship like never before. Worship is an element of Christianity that is so misunderstood by the body of Christ, yet simple enough to be experienced by every believer. It is the lack of knowledge that allows so many people to miss the opportunity to have intimacy with the true and living God. Our Father is in high pursuit of those that will worship Him in spirit and in truth.
As a worship leader, I want to assist God in finding those worshipers who desire to sincerely worship Him. It is my vision, through “Holy Nation”, to expose believers to a higher level of worship than they have ever experienced. Through my music ministry, I want people to encounter God
as I have. My life has changed since I met Jesus. I know him in a better way and I want to be closer to him everyday. However, I refuse to go alone. We have exchanged our weaknesses with God’s strength to take a stand
and allow believers all over the world who have not experienced God through true intimacy, to Get Exposed To Unadulterated Praise.
