MP3 Dave Tutin - Raised In Vain / Afterthought

Adult contemporary singer-songwriter

19 MP3 Songs
POP: Folky Pop, FOLK: Power-folk

Details:
Dave Tutin is a New York-based, British-born singer-songwriter.

Raised In Vain is thirteen tracks recorded with some of the finest musicians in New York.

Larry Campbell – after years on the road with Dylan – is here on pedal steel guitar, mandolin, lap steel and violin. Shawn Pelton, described by Dave as "the most musical drummer I''ve ever worked with". And a host of others including Eric Weissberg who adds his haunting pedal steel guitar to ''America'' – a subtly powerful comment on the state of our nation. But what brings all these fine players together – superbly produced by Craig Snyder who also adds his eloquent guitar skills – are the songs. A lyricist who in his own words is "like a young man running in an old man''s shoes" Dave''s songs quickly explain why such a gifted group of players wanted to record them.

Free with Raised In Vain comes a second, six-track album
called Afterthought. With the exception of some deft touches
of piano and cello, this is an acoustic set featuring Dave and Craig. As a songwriter who has "hopefully lived long enough to have thrown away the bad stuff" Dave is clearly fooling with us when he left out the space – songs like these only come after thought. Serious thought.
