Details:
Darrel Maurice Polk, originally a native of New Orleans, LA., and now a long term resident of Stone Mountain, GA, is the Founder and President of The New Psalm Company, a gospel recording and production company, and the Association of Christian Entertainment Ministries, Inc., a Christian entertainment and media publishing company.

In college, Darrel sang in the Dillard University Concert choir and in several church choirs. His professional career began when he was asked to be a featured vocalist for the Music South Corporation''s Africal American Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorale. In August of 2004, Darrel released his first gospel album entitled, "Lord, I''m Ready!"., and in January of 2006, his second independent release entitled, "Shall I Sing For You?

Irronically, his serious interest in music was developed as a young child, quite impressively picking out songs on his grandmother’s piano. That is until, his mother would get tired of the noise and ask him off the piano. After years of having only limited access to the piano, that he loved so much, and was run off of far too frequently, in his opinion, Darrel recalls vowing that when he grew up, he would have the biggest piano he could buy in his house.

Well, that dream was realized in a big way, when he built his first home and bought a Baby Grand Piano for his living room. Little did he know that, his initial investment would later grow into the development of what is is now his "State of The Art" recording studio and independent record label. "New Psalm Records"

The ministry of Darrel Polk is, one of exhortation, to help mature and desciple, with great sensitivity, the "Body Of Christ". His music is characterized by its powerful lyrics and by his ability as a songwriter, to elicit quiet reflection. On stage all he prefers the simplicity of a mic., a soft light and a good pianst. Then. he is "in his world".

His production style is such that, his music invites the listner to focus is on the ministry apeal of his lyrics, as well as the emotional appeal of the "hook". Having grown up in New Orleans, with all of its rich jazz influences, Darrel also had strong influences during his childhood by such music legends as Nat "King" Cole, Brook Benton, Ottis Redding and Dianna Washington, Darrel''s vocal style is that of an "Old School" Crooner, now rolled into the function of a modern day psalmist.

Although he constantly proves that he can "Bring It" on his up tempo songs, Darrel prefers to write and sing reflective ballads and modern day psalms, that speak to every scope of human emotion, and provide inspirational testimonies to which listener can relate, and be encouraged to recognize, understand and then embrace "Gods Process".

Clear the runway world, and prepare to recieve, Darrel Polk, one of Christian music''s best kept secrets, for he declairs in the last song on his latest release, "It''s My Time To Fly".
