‘The Daisycutters…are perhaps this country’s most under-rated band’
Courier Mail (Brisbane)

With some of the most infectiously ‘hummable’ tunes of the last few years under their collective belts, Queensland’s favourite sons – The Daisycutters, are poised to release a long overdue retrospective later this year.
Entitled ‘Lines and Sinkers (The EP Years) the new collection contains a selection of tracks from the bands early https://www.tradebit.com (all now out of print) including some of their biggest radio singles fans have been unable to buy for several years.

Who could forget the effervescent ‘Sick Day’ which enjoyed months of high rotation in 2001 and was used as the theme to ‘…that MasterCard ad!’
Their un-earthed winning ‘Kiss Me Stupid’ makes an appearance as does ‘It’s a Shame About Us’, ‘The State I’m In’ and ‘Between the Buildings’ – all finally available again and on the same album for the first time ever!
The compilation includes several ultra-rare and much sought after tracks from the band’s first E.P, which was limited to 500 numbered copies. Also as an extra treat for fans it also features a track from the band’s unreleased ‘Hateful’ E.P which has never been available on CD before!

Two brand new radio singles are also included especially recorded for the album by long-time Producer - Mark McElligott (Powderfinger, Drag).
The delightfully up-lifting romp of ‘I’ve Stopped Drinking Now I’ve Found Her” and the utterly fantastic ‘I Took a Punch for You Tonight’ are sure to set play-lists alight across the country.

The collection draws heavily from 1997 – 2002 which was an extremely intense time for the band, for it was during this period The Daisycutters were un-earthed by Triple J in Brisbane, surpassing over 2000 other entrants.
This time period was also an extremely productive one, seeing them release on average one EP per year, as well as relentlessly touring the country with You Am I, The Living End, Shihad, Eskimo Joe, The Whitlams, Rocket Science and playing a host of major festivals including 2 Big Day Outs.

The Daisycutters are still riding high on the 2004 release of their debut album ‘Awake Among The Sleepers’. Selling out its first pressing in 5 weeks and critically acclaimed across the country, the album set a bench mark for impassioned, un-pretentious rock n roll. Beat Magazine in Melbourne hailed it as ‘…one of the best albums you are likely to hear all year’ – and promptly made it album of the week.
The Daisycutters have built a fiercely loyal fan base from constant touring and interest is already building for ‘Lines and Sinkers’ through the band’s official website.
Catch the band soon in a venue near you, as they hit the road in the next few months to support the album’s release
