Details:
Thanks for checking out the debut CD from the charismatic jazz vocalist Dana Land.
"With Dana''s sense of sheer fun and sensuality you will hear the smile in her voice," says an adoring fan. "Her vocals are clear, warm, rich and expressive. Her new album, ''Servin'' It Up'', is playful, swingin'' and upbeat. And, if you have the chance to experience Dana at one of her live performances, you''ll find that she''s like comfort food; honest, sweet and sensual." Samba, bossa nova, blues and swing rhythms add to the diverse selections from compositions by Chick Corea, Lennon and McCartney, Michael Franks, Antonia Carlos Jobim, E.Y. Harburg and Dave Frishberg.

Dana resides in the Sonoma Valley wine country, north of San Francisco and performs throughout the Bay Area at festivals, wineries, weddings, jazz venues and private events.
Her repertoire ranges from vintage standards, swing and show tunes to Brazilian and blues, from candle light jazz to foot-tapping music that makes you want to get up and dance! Dana is supported by some of the finest musicians in Northern California as she interprets compositions from some of the greats such as Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Harold Arlen and Dave Frishberg,

Following is a list of the musicians who recorded on the album:
John Mackay-piano
Tom Shader-acoustic bass
Kendrick Freeman-drums and percussion
Dale Gutridge-trumpet, saxes
Randy Vincent-nylon and acoustic electric guitars
Bob Afifi-flute
David Scott-saxes
Al Molina-trumpet
John Simon-piano

Dana spent her childhood growing up on the beaches of Honolulu, Hawaii. Having been raised in a musical family and with her piano studies, her early musical influences ranged from classical to big band. After she graduated from high school and attended University of Hawaii she moved to Southern California and then off to San Francisco where she pursued a career in interior design. It wasn''t until after she had started a family that she decided to ''take herself off the shelf'' and pursue her passion. She studied with Suzanne Pittson at Sonoma State University and was encouraged greatly by her to "just get out and sing!" Critics are now hailing her as one of the most appealing jazz performers on the scene.
