Details:
david started his music career in 1996 after doctors told him he''d be dead in 6 months from a tumor in his head. 12 albums later, he''s still going strong and his latest continues to showcase the strength of his writing along with the astounding production of Producer and mentor Donny Holcombe. Patience, vision and some musical risktaking erupt and merge seamlessly into david''s finest collection yet.

Notes on tracks:

1. Maybe - this is a song I wrote early in the not by chance days. We used to sing it a lot, but never got around to recording it. The song opens with the musing that Maybe this world was meant to break your heart
goes through a bunch of possibilities then finally concludes that Maybe in the end, all we have is one another and that Maybe that''s God''s answer to the hearts that break in two... woven around one of m y favorite images of raindrops hearing lovesongs sungby the soil. Ok, that reads corny, but it sounds right, I promise.
2. Takes Two to See - I wasn''t going to have a ''title'' track; you actually probably wouldn''t believe some of the really bad title ideas I was actually seriously considering until I realized how awful they were. This isn''t your typical high energy title track, but it does capture the essence of what this project seems to be about. - i t also has some of my favorite guitarwork. First verse is about Sherlock and Watson. 2nd verse is about Mary and Martha. Third verse is about Jesus and the blind man. eclectic enough? :-)
3. Girl - Wrote this one in college and performed it every night with Bill Deasy in the "Bailey & Deasy duo. One of my most favorite songs, ever, and Donny''s production is breathtaking. Imagine a love story unfolding in Paris, Venice, Vienna, and London. If you''ve been to any of those cities, you''ll love this song.
4. Chico - This is the same song that ppears on the Silent Conversation album, but this version is recorded live with Scuffletown in a cabin in the mountains. It''s how the song is meant to be heard.
5. To the World - this is actually the first song I wrote after diagnosis, written on the back of a dollar bill It first appeared on the "Second Chance" CD and has been in hibernation since ''98. The opening line kinda says it all. "What is life if not a chance to make a difference? I''ll be playing this one every night.
6. Holy Roads - maps out some famous Biblical roads to well known destinations. Starts with Bethlehem and ends with Damascus...
7. Soldiers & Sorrows. Classic country waltz-ballad. The first and only time you''ll hear pedal steel on a bailey cd.
8. So Alive - a new year''s day song; don''t think my fngers can move any faster than they do on this one. It was a bear to record.
9. Backstage - started this back stage [duh] at a show in Oskaloosa, Iowa. I promised the audience taht night that one day it would be on a CD. Think New Orleans jazzz club...
10. Take Away - written and debuted last summer at the New Wilmington Missionary Conference
11. Do Not Be Afraid - huge. the surprise guest voices on this were Donny''s idea. still give me chills.
12. Campfire Symphony - Really gentle and introspective and
13. What Love is About - Three stories that herald love''s power
14. One Day - the dark horse of the album. Juxtapositions JFK, Columbine, 911, and one other day....
15. Carried by Your Love - I''m not sure, but I think I wrote this in 1983 while in boarding schoool in Germany. happy song. also recorded with Scuffletown in the cabin/studio
16. After the Encore - Think midnight... basement https://www.tradebit.comt of the crowd has gone home... just a few folks lingering and there''s one more song reserved just for them. passionate and tender.
