The Durio Family aka Dem Durio Boys is an 8 member young talented group from Sunset, La, we have been rapping and performing together for 7 yrs. The group members are: Soulja Jay (21) Black Magik (21) Lil Zeno (20) Yung Tyke (19) Uncut (27) Ozone (20) Ace (21) and J-Starr (17). This group comes from very humble beginnings. Just about 11 young boys we all lived on one dead end street, with nothing but time and rhymes we developed a love for music and over the time we went from freestyling under the street lights to rerecording our own mixtapes. From the very beginning people new we had potential. We have been labeled with a purely original sound that is similar to no one at all! We have put out a series of underground mixtapes between 1998 - 2005. That led to us almost being signed to an independent production company in 2003. We were ready to release 2 albums but both albums got cancelled do to a financial dispute. After rebounding from that disappointment we built our own studio. We released another set of mixtapes, but soon we felt it was time to step up to the next level of the game and put out our first LP. Due to our young, fly and flashy appearance we have been signing autographs since the release our first mixtapes, and with music like ours we are sure to be signing for a long time! Our album is called Family Ties which bears production from Dj Titanik (possibly the best underground hitmaker in Louisiana), Warren (one of the most soulful and solid producers in our area) , and J-Starr (the youngest group member and one half of Phenomenal Beats w/Yung Tyke).
