Details:
Formed in early 2002, DIAL 8 is a cutting edge, modern rock quintet, based in Atlanta, Georgia. The band is quickly gaining nominal success with their debut release entitled, Extra-Ordinary while playing numerous venues in the Atlanta area. Dial 8 expertly blends hip beats, driving guitars, and the occasional element of electronica to create a unique sound that fans find hard to pigeonhole, but easy to love.

Dial 8 is fronted by 23 year old, music scene veteran, Gary Pfaff. Pfaff started his career in 1994 as a singer/songwriter and gained both local and national recognition. Pfaff''s music has received play on 99X, one of the nations leading modern/rock/alternative stations as well as 96 Rock. In 1996 Gary logged a marathon like 25 performances in 22 days at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in his home town of Atlanta, Georgia. A true performer by nature, Pfaff graduated from the local club scene to tour with the popular Lava/Atlantic recording star, Edwin McCain. Pfaff has also been a noted performer at the infamous Music Midtown festival held annually drawing hundreds of top national performers each year. Gary then received rave reviews following his amazing performance in front of 7,000 adoring fans as the opener for the final show of 60''s rock icons, The Monkees. In August of 2000, Gary and his former band gained a high profile slot at the Atlantis Music Conference and was runner up for the Atlanta Local Music Awards, People''s Choice award. Then, not yet satisfied, the band returned to the conference and was noted as, "Atlanta''s favorite band", by winning the People''s Choice Award in 2001. As the year was coming to an end Gary was summoned to write and produce the soundtrack for a 90-minute Rock musical called, The Ladder. Upon completion of the project Gary had found himself in the producers chair, working with numerous local and regional acts, which led him to the change in heart that would birth Dial 8.

Gary and longtime drummer, Kevin Caldwell set out to put the right bunch of musicians together to turn this vision into reality. Caldwell, age 26, otherwise known as "Pony" is a schooled drummer that has a musical history equally as impressive as Pfaff''s. Kevin has played the Warped Tour as well as Music Midtown, while being the drummer in a band voted by VH1 as one of the 5 top best, unsigned bands in the country. Caldwell is no stranger to success and plays an integral role in Dial 8. The guy''s then recruited 26 year- old, Scott Shiflett to play guitar with the newly formed band. Shiflett had been playing the local club circuit for years and was known for his remarkable skills, as well as his energizing stage antics. Next, the band contacted 25 year-old, top southeastern club DJ, named Chris Grey to join the band. Grey has been featured in URB magazine and has shared the stage with DJ Kraze. Finally, the band needed a bass player, which is where Pete Roberts came into the picture. Roberts, age 38, played on the record and has since left the band to play with a group. Upon, Roberts departure, the band nabbed a great local player, 24 year-old, John Brown a.k.a. J.B.. JB is best known for his work with the Atlanta based band, Driven, and is a great addition to DIAL 8.

The band is currently making preparations for a small east coast tour in support of their debut release entitled, Extra Ordinary, while playing numerous venues in the Atlanta area.
