"Slim" was recorded at various studio''s around San Francisco and San Rafael, Ca. it''s a compilation of four different recording''s. The engineering and mixing was done by Mark Needham and Ralph Patlan at different times at different studios. This cd is dedicated along with the other Disfunctional Family cds to our good friend Michael "Slim" Desmet who was with us from the beginning of it all. He was a good friend and a good gear tech. He helped out at every rehearsal, show and recording session. We thought it would only be right to name this cd after him.
All Members of Disfunctional Family are from Quad Cities, (Iowa, Illinois) border. After
touring the Midwest as "Suicide Saloon'', there popularity gained them attention from indie
label "Pump Records" located in San Francisco, California. So in 1991 the band headed to
California, and soon there after the label went under and the singer of Suicide Saloon moved back to Chicago.
May 1992 Disfunctional Family was born with the addition of Troy Bradley on lead vocals.
D.F. toured Northern and Southern California playing clubs like The Roxy and Coconut Teaser in
L.A. They received radio airplay on L.A.''s The Knac, and soon after got label interest from MCA and RCA Records.
Disfunctional Family recorded three cds, "Thought It Wasn''t!" and "Knew It Was!" feature Troy Bradley on lead vocals. The last cd "Slim" features Erin Seibel and Ron Cook on lead vocals. All Disfunctional Family cds are self produced with the infamously talented engineering
skills of Mark Needham and Ralph Patlan.
The cds were never released until now. Remastered and released on https://www.tradebit.com, https://www.tradebit.com, and 40+ digital download companies including itunes, Rhapsody, Napster and many more.
Disfunctional Family broke up, and Erin Seibel, Craig Sitter and Troy Bradley went on to form "Heyzeus" which you may also find on this site as well as the aforementioned companies. Heyzeus was short lived and everybody went there separate ways. December 2005 was when Craig Sitter and Gordon Doherty got together to form Sinister Farmer''s Big Machine. S.F.B.M. are currently working, touring around California and Midwest on their first full length cd. You can check out the band at https://www.tradebit.com
