Dignen was formed in late 1997 in portland oregon. The band was orginally a 5 peice which relased a 7 inch record, a full length debut album, and toured the United States twice. In 2001 the band reconfigured as a 3 piece including; guitar, keyboard and drums. Since this time they recorded their second full length album ''the years after the college collapes" and toured the west coast.
The music is more sparse and delicate that dignen''s first album. With less going on it is easier to hear the melodies and rythms that saturate this album. The music is catagorized as indie rock, or experimental rock . The band is diven by layered melodies and female vs male vocals that trade off with call and response, harmoies, and a solid driven rythm.
