Originating in Central Florida in mid 2003, Dirty Shannon began as a group of veteran Orlando musicians who felt that the fading wave of melodically crafted rock deserved to be revived in their town. The band states, “There had been so many great bands from our area that had been short-sided because of radio trends or other industry situations, we had to try to put something out there that the Orlando music fans could grab onto in order to refuel their love for local rock and roll.” With that vision, guitarists and songwriters Patrick Mathews and Paul Schick, along with bassist Richard Hill, brought in an impressive lineup of guitar hooks and vocals to shape the sound that has become Dirty Shannon.
With the soulful projection of vocalist/lyricist Victor Scott and the energetic percussion of Marco Castellini added to the lineup, Dirty Shannon produces a cadence that fans can’t shake from their heads. Driving guitars, emotionally charged lyrics, a thunderous low end, and a strong sense of instrumentation keep this mix of rock in your memory bank for days.
Dirty Shannon has played for fans of all ages in a variety of Central Florida venues. In doing so, they have formulated a live show which keeps their fan base growing. The band has released a debut set of original recordings in September 2005 entitled “Weather, Time & Possessions.” While touring locally in support of their new EP, the band looks forward to meeting and cultivating new fans along the way.
”Our goal is to personally touch each and every listener’s soul with some aspect of our music- to give them something familiar that they can enjoy or rely on,” explains Hill.
