Hello. My name is Derek Stroker and I was born in Miami Florida in 1985. I am an aspiring 21-year-old singer songwriter that wants to make everyone live life one moment at a time. Currently, I have my AS degree in Music Production Technology from Valencia Community College in Orlando. I have been involved in and inspired by music my entire life. Throughout my years, I have played many different instruments, in several bands and have found that if you want something done right, you must do it yourself. I am in the process of recording, mixing, engineering, producing, and writing my own debut album. I am a confident, well-rounded musician that has heart felt lyrics that anyone can relate to. Some of my inspiration comes from musical legends such as Eric Clapton and John Lennon, but most of it comes from my family. My family has loved and supported me through all of lifes hardships and joyful experiences. I have been compared to musicians such as Dave Matthews, John Mayer, and Marc Broussard, and would categorize my music as acoustic rock with reggae influence. I feel that my songs and lyrics are very powerful and positive about various life situations. Music plays a very important and meaningful role in my life.
