For twenty-six years, melodious and dramatic energy has been flowing in the mind, body and soul of Lyle Miller. He is a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer, vocal and musical arranger and an actor with extensive experience in all of the above areas. Lyle has been singing professionally for over ten years, starting in high school talent shows and progressing to local showcases like Chicago''s Black Expo. With his former vocal group, FLOW, he recorded a compilation CD entitled Street Dreams containing selections from different groups of Chicago''s street musicians. FLOW traveled around the country performing with such acts as Ce Ce Peniston, Do or Die and Tamia. They also appeared live on Steve Harvey''s WGCI Chicago radio morning show, which led them to the World Famous Apollo Theater in New York City. Upon Returning to Chicago, they performed for United Way and at the Taste of Chicago, opening up for Bobby Caldwell, Joe Sample and the late Art Porter.
Lyle''s individual work includes a vast number of musicals and dramatic plays in theaters such as The Lyric Opera of Chicago, The DuSable Museum in Chicago and The Black Ensemble Theater in Chicago. He earned a nomination from the Black Theater Alliance for his leading role in Elvis Presley Was a Black Man. Most recently he toured with The Black Ensemble Theater Touring Company''s Jackie Wilson Story portraying Sam Cooke and Clyde McPhatter. He also served as vocal arranger and vocal director of the show.
His current project includes 10 hits including soulful, funky-ballads, heart-wrenching love songs and a superb remake of Lenny Williams hit song, "Because I Love You." As a soloist, he has shared the stage with Angie Stone and Ray, Goodman, and Brown. He also appeared at the Isaac Hayes Restaurant in Chicago and Ashford and Simpson''s'' Sugarbar in New York.
All the songs on the CD are written and composed by Lyle. A five-piece funk/jazz/neo-soul band backs him with a wall of sound. With Lyle''s smooth musical voice, you not only enjoy true entertainment, you feel it and connect with it...down to the core of your soul.
