Details:
Gregory Lygon''s sophomore solo release, "The Most Lucid Moments", showcases a refreshing approach to AAA/Contemporary Acoustic music, a symbiosis contemporary folk, rock, jazz and new age. Building on the solid foundation of "UnEarthly Passions," Moments also features Lygon''s work on electric guitar as well as collaborative efforts with prolific songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Andreas Barrett.

Recognized by his musical peers in the Washington, DC area, Gregory Lygon was a 2003 "Wammie Award" Nominee for "Best Instrumentalist, Contemporary Folk". His first solo release, "UnEarthly Passions" was hailed by the Alexandria Old Town Crier as "exotic and dreamlike", with lyrics and music "that will bring you to your knees".

Gregory Lygon is a veteran of Cerulean Groove, the brainchild of disappear fear''s drummer/vocalist Laura Cerulli. Lygon, a student of the guitar for over 25 years, also cut his guitar teeth in groups like The Rub and Dandelion Wine. The latter, a new age duet with his wife Staci Renee Lygon, won acclaim in 2000 with the release "Book of Mirrors" was nominated for "Best New Age Album" by the Washington Area Music Association).

Performing regularly throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area, Lygon''s gentle rapport and artistry energize audiences, heal the soul and soothe the spirit.

As a versatile sideman, Lygon has crossed styles seamlessly, with singer/songwriter Nikki Rouse and talented Celtic instrumentalist Darcy Nair (for whom Lygon recorded tracks for her forthcoming solo release)

As a lyric writer, Lygon''s style is all at once contemplative and philosophical, weaving Americana, nature themes and his own life experience to muse about the world we live in. His guitar work "Rings true", according to Pat Staton of WAGE AM 1260 (Leesburg, VA).

No doubt a tributeto his more than 25 years of faithful study, Lygon''s unique fingerstyle guitar work uses alternate tunings and techniques that allow him to create different textures and moods. He has sat under the tutelage of many of the instrument''s best, such as Duck Baker, Michael Fath and Al Petteway.

Lygon''s work invites comparison to singer/songwriters like Kenny Loggins or Dan Fogelberg. Yet as Diane Gibbs said in the Alexandria Old Town Crier, Lygon "shouldn''t be compared to anybody because he is a unicorn, enigmatic and rare".
