Hi - I''ve finished a more recent cd titled Undivided Landscape with a link on the left side of this page under TRY THIS, larry dodge. I hope you will give it a few moments of your time.
Choral groups, oboe, and 12 years of classical piano formed my roots in music. In high school, listening to Pete Jolly (my hero) exposed me to the world of jazz piano. Then, I had the good fortune of playing in a quartet for three years with Joe Bratton, a lyrical alto sax and flute player who through some quirk of fate had abruptly left Jimmy Dorsey''s band and ended up in my hometown of Fargo, North Dakota.
After moving to San Francisco, playing piano became a means of stepping back from the fizz of a life of architecture and urban design. Another stroke of good fortune happened when Susan Muscarella opened her Jazzschool in Berkeley, with great instructors from throughout the Bay Area.. Classes and concerts there expanded my awareness and renewed my interest in jazz piano performance.
I hope you find this music to be an enjoyable backdrop to your musings and conversations.
