Lafayette Charles is a R&B vocalist, songwriter, pianist, and producer. He has worked with Grammy-award winners and other various artists (i.e. Curtis Mayfield, Usher, Speech of Arrested Development Bobby Valentino, and Raven-Symone of "That''s So Raven" and "The Cosby Show".
Lafayette, whose real name is Lafayette Summers, began singing in public at the age of five. He was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and is a graduate of Morehouse College with a BA in Music Composition. He was member of the world renown Morehouse College Glee Club, under the direction of Wendell P. Whalum.
Now, as Lafayette professionally embarks upon greater heights in his music career, he has chosen the name of Lafayette Charles in memory of his father and brother whose first names were Charles. As you experience the sounds of Lafayette Charles, you will hear and feel the unique blend of R&B flavored with jazz and gospel overtones.
