In February of 2003, a band formed from the ashes of two of Seattle''s most brutal hardcore bands; Left With Nothing and Contingent, giving life to LAHAR: an intelligent and aggressive hardcore-metal hybrid, hell-bent on taking over the scene with raw power and making their place in the center of this world as a hard working, take-no-prisoners heavy metal, bone-crushing machine. Forging the aggressive apocalyptic breakdowns of modern hardcore and firing out riffs that would please even the most critical Slayer fan, Lahar is an American hardcore style band. Although fans of the Swedish Metal classics and several Metalcore bands, LAHAR is not just another Black Metal clone, or a pretty little flash in the pan that can''t play without their matching outfits.. LAHAR''s mission is to write the most unmerciful, brutal, and well thought-out music with out abandoning their influences, and to bring that all into recording and touring relentlessly. On stage, LAHAR is unmatched in sheer intensity and disciplined showmanship. A violent landslide and mud flow unleashed by volcanic eruption; this is the definition of a LAHAR, and it is an accurate interpretation of what and who the band LAHAR is, and will become.
