LANDSLIDE is a Christian Band, based in Rankin County Mississippi, that has been playing together since early 1999 in Mississippi and Louisiana. Their mission and ministry is to proclaim God’s word through song and testimony, worship Him with music, and present the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.
Band members include Kenneth and Susan Boone of Pearl, Bobby Ford of Pearl, Randy Day of Pearl, Wayne Blackwell of Richland, and Jason Day of Brandon. The group was formed as friendships started and grew through fellowship at church. Kenneth, Susan, Wayne, and Bobby were, at one time, all members of the same church. Randy Day was associated based on a long-time friendship with Kenneth. The two of them have been friends since childhood and have played together in various rock & roll bands over the years. Jason is Randy’s son, who by just being available during practice, became a close friend of the group and was asked to join.
The group feels that God has brought them together and has provided the talents and resources to make LANDSLIDE a reality. A way for them to share the Gospel of Christ so others can come to know Jesus, obtaining the victory that can only come through a personal relationship with Him. Even the name LANDSLIDE was taken for it’s meaning, “Overwhelming Victory”.
When playing, LANDSLIDE was always hit with many requests by members of their audience for CDs featuring the songs they heard during the performance. The group finally recorded one. In June 2003, the band quit playing live events and went into the studio to start the LANDSLIDE Going Up CD Project. This turned out to be a long-running work that was not finished until December of the same year.
Besides the actual recording of the tracks, the mix down, and mastering that took about seven months, the issues of obtaining copyrights for the songs, sound recordings, trademark for the LANDSLIDE name, and having the first copies produced delayed the finished product until April 2003.
The CD was recorded at THE RECORDING STUDIO in Pearl, MS and mastered by Shark Fin Mastering in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. Jimmy Henderson, recording artist and former guitarist for Black Oak Arkansas, served as the leading sound engineer and co-producer of the work.
The CD features all original material, encompassing several styles of music including Rock & Roll, Contemporary, Blues, Folk, Ballads, Country, and Outlaw Country. Titled “Going Up”, the included songs are about Faith, Salvation, God’s Power, God’s Deliverance, End Times, Warnings about the Devil, Testimony, and a little humor.
Electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums, trumpet, keyboard, mandolin, and other instruments are used along with vocal harmony to deliver a truly unique sound that LANDSLIDE hopes will not only entertain, but also bless the https://www.tradebit.comit the LANDSLIDE Website at https://www.tradebit.com .
