I would like to encourage all young people to pursue their mission. I was born in Abbeville, SC and moved to Atlanta, Georgia at a young age. My parents encouraged me to stay in the church.
I have sung in several choirs. One day, I got fed up with choirs; our choir would get an invitation to support another choir’s anniversary, but they would not go because the musician (pianist) would not have time. So, I decided to ask the pianist to put a favorite song of mine on tape. So when the invitation came, I went by myself to support the choir(s).
My first program was very interesting, because this church held about 2,500 people and the church was packed. Listening at the talents, it didn’t take me long to decide that I was out of place with my little tape recorder. So I decided to make a donation and get out of there. As I was at the desk trying to make my donation, the master of ceremony called my choir’s name and stated that I was next. I didn’t say anything, but someone pointed me out.
So I waited for my turn. Just before me, the choir of about fifty had shaken the roof off the church. Well my time came, and I went up with my little tape recorder shaking in my shoes. When I finished my song, the whole church gave me a standing ovation. If you look around now, everybody is singing with tapes.

This song, “I Can’t Even Walk Without You Holding My Hand” has been a favorite everywhere I sang it. My mother was my best fan and friend. Also, my wife and children are supportive. The narrative part is true, she requested this song to be sung at her funeral. It was hard just to be at my mother’s funeral, but to sang was an even greater task..
I could write another hour or two. In short, my three sisters, niece, and I decided to record the song. I hope that this song blesses you as it has blessed us.
