If you are cooking several food items in a steel pressure cooker at once, it is not a good idea to cook all the food for the same time duration. First cook the slow cooking food for some time and then add the fast cooking food so that the fast cooking food will not get over cooked. When cooking in a steel pressure cooker the food tend to absorb more flavors and spices due to high pressure. Therefore be cautious when adding spices and other seasonings, especially salt, when cooking in a steel pressure cooker. Pressure cookers should be used with utmost care and caution. Always make sure to read the instruction manual that came with the pressure cooker before you use it. You should also check if the pressure cooker lid is closed properly and the steam outlet is not blocked before you put your steel pressure cooker on the stove.
